Pedestrian hurt in collision with van

A PEDESTRIAN is being treated for a suspected head injury at Maidstone Hospital after being struck by a van this afternoon.
The 30-year old Maidstone man was hurt while crossing the Tonbridge Road at the junction with Hermitage Lane. A crash investigation has been launched.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 2.45pm after receiving calls of a man slumped in the road. He remained conscious at the scene, according to police reports.
The accident caused traffic chaos in Maidstone town centre with motorists diverted away from the scene of the accident.
