Woman dies after Maidstone crash sees pedestrian hit by Volvo lorry

A woman has died after being struck by a lorry.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the pedestrian, who was in her 70s, was struck in Loose Road, Maidstone.
An 65-year-old Italian man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the crash last Thursday.
He has been released under investigation.
The crash, which happened at around 2.30pm, happened at the junction with Heather Drive and involved a white Volvo lorry with a blue articulated trailer.
The victim was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries.
She died as a result of her injuries on Tuesday.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the lorry or the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the collision, or who have dash cam footage from the area that was recorded around the time of the incident.
