Maidstone: Lanes closed on A249 Sittingbourne Road after crash

A woman has been left with neck injuries following a crash involving two cars on the A249 Bearsted Road in Maidstone this afternoon.
The collision happened shortly before 1pm between the Chiltern Hundreds and Newnham Court roundabouts. Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene.
Fire officers removed the roof of one of the vehicles to free the woman.
Lanes were closed in both directions, causing tailbacks going back into the town centre.
The road had reopened by 3pm.
It is not known if there were any other injuries.
