Detectives have seized a knife after a person was threatened in the toilets of a bar.
During the early hours of Sunday, June 9, police officers were called to a venue in Market Buildings, where it is alleged the victim was approached shortly after midnight.
Security staff detained the suspect until officers arrived at the scene.
The man, aged 26 and from Wateringbury, was then arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and assault. He was later released pending further investigation.
Kent Police is continuing its clampdown on knife crime and associated offences, including the supply of drugs.
Carrying a knife increases the risk of being the victim of a serious assault and officers will continue to take robust and proactive action to detect, stop and search those believed to be in possession of weapons.
