A man has been jailed after hundreds of indecent images of children were found on his computer.
Peter Futymed of Kingfisher Meadow, Maidstone was arrested in February 25 last year, after police officers executed a search warrant at his home address.
A forensic examination of the 51-year-old's computer and CDs revealed it contained 638 indecent images of children. Of these, 144 images were classed as Category A, the most serious level.
In interview Futymed admitted possessing indecent images and searching for them on the internet as he found them titillating.
Futymed was subsequently charged with three offences of making indecent photographs of a child and four charges of possessing such images.
He appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, where he pleaded guilty and received a prison sentence of 16 months.
Det Con Jon Baker said: "Futymed has tried to excuse his actions by blaming them on issues in his private life.
"This is unacceptable when one considers the pain and trauma suffered by the victims in the images. Futymed should reflect on his conduct whilst in prison."
