Peter Andre caused a frenzy at a Maidstone hotel where he's been staying while filming in the town.

The reality show favourite has stayed at the Sir Thomas Wyatt Premier Inn, off London Road, in Allington, for the last two nights.

He has been filming 60 Minute Makeover at a home nearby.

The singer, who was joined by brother Michael Andre, driver Carl Machin and a film crew, had kept a low profile until he dined in the hotel's Beefeater Grill last night.

Hannah Bamber, team leader, said: "He sat away from everyone else, just tucked around the corner. No one knew he was there until he got up to go to the loo and then it just went mad.

"My manager had to stop loads of women trying to come in just to meet him.

"He was really nice and friendly. He posed for photos with fans and our staff.

"We'd definitely welcome him back."

The star, 40, who has also been filming the ITV show at a house in Rochester, checked out of the hotel this morning.

Andre was announced as the new presenter of the home makeover series in April. He will front 30 episodes.
