Plans for a new care home have been submitted to Maidstone Borough Council.
The planning statement accompanying the application for permission to build on land south of the A274 Sutton Road in Langley, near Maidstone, states the 78-bed facility will be 'dual-registered' so it can provide both nursing and residential care.
According to the submitted plans, residents of the proposed care home would be on average around 80 to 90 years old, with some living with dementia and other complex physical needs.
It is estimated that the care home could create around 70 new jobs. Staff would work in shifts to provide 24-hour care, with no employees living on site.
The plans show a total of 78 en-suite bedrooms in the T-shaped building, with 24 rooms on the ground floor, 26 on the first floor and 28 bedrooms on the second floor.
The planning statement reads: "As well as the internal environment, the proposal provides a variety of external amenity spaces for residents which include outside seating areas and circular footpaths routes.
"These are designed to provide high-quality outdoor spaces for social interaction, activities and exercise, for both the mental and physical wellbeing of residents."
"The building has little in the way of architectural style and is overly dominant of its surroundings..."
The proposed site of the care home sits centrally within a wider development area which in 2018 was given outline planning permission for a major residential development of up to 800 homes.
Commenting on the plans, Langley Parish Council has expressed objection to the scheme.
A parish council spokesman said: "The building has little in the way of architectural style and is overly dominant of its surroundings.
"Concern is raised regarding the allocation of just 26 car parking spaces being available to cater for both staff and visitors alike. Whilst documentation from the applicant appears to show that it meets the current ratio guidelines, it is felt that this will be insufficient and vehicles from this development will over spill onto the adjacent roads and will be detrimental to highway safety."
It is expected the proposal will be decided on by a borough council planning committee by July 9.
