Vote today - now - to make Hollingbourne Station a winner
20:46, 14 October 2024
Today is the day for Kent residents to show their support for our Kentish station.
Hollingbourne Station, with its community-run Signal Box Cafe, is in the finals of the South East regional heats for the 2024 World Cup of Stations Competition, but to get it over the finishing line, Hollingbourne needs your vote today.
Go online at hereto cast your vote to make sure that Hollingbourne pulls ahead of its rivals: Elmsworth in Hampshire, Lewes in East Sussex, and Oxford Parkway in Oxfordshire.
The station’s former ticket office and booking hall had remained unused for 32 years, until a partnership between train operator Southeastern, the Kent Community Rail Partnership, the Railway Heritage Trust, and Hollingbourne Parish Council led to the building being brought back into productive use.
It opened as a community hub in May 2023, featuring the Signal Box Cafe, and is run by volunteers.
Kathy Cox has been involved in the station project from the start. She said: “Please vote for us today. It would mean so much for all the volunteers!”
