Police make arrest over string of suspected arsons in Maidstone

Police investigating a string of suspected arsons around Maidstone have made an arrest.
Since Monday, police have been called to four separate fires.
The first came in the stairway of a multi-story car park off Romney Place at around 12.15am on Monday.
Two more fires in rubbish bins were called in over the following hour in Hayle Road and Armstrong Road.
The following day, police were called to two parked cars which were alight in Campbell Road.
On Thursday, a 24-year-old Maidstone man was arrested on suspicion of arson.
He has been bailed to return to Maidstone Police Station on May 16.
Investigators are asking anyone with information that may help their enquiries into the fires to call 01622 604100 quoting reference 17-0091.
