An unsuspecting lorry driver got more than they bargained for when they attempted to force a car to speed up.
The tanker was seen tail-gating in the 50mph roadworks section of the M20 between Ashford and Maidstone.
The driver also flashed its lights at the car in front, not realising it was an unmarked vehicle belonging to the Kent Police Roads Policing Unit.
A Tweet from the unit this afternoon said: "If you are driving an HGV and you decide to try to force the vehicle in front to exceed the speed limit in the roadworks j9-8, probably best to make sure it isn't an unmarked traffic car first!"
Drivers caught tailgating can receive a fine of £100 and three points on their licence.
The penalty can be even greater if it results in an accident.
It is not known what punishment was given to the driver of the tanker.
Numerous people tweeted their congratulations. Dan Clark wrote: "So pleased to see this. Happens to me all the time between 9-8."
And John Gogarty responded: "Well done guys! I've been seeing too much of this behaviour, you'd think the driver of a tanker would know better."
Police have been approached for a comment.
