Police have renewed their appeal for information about a sexual assault that saw a woman pinned to the wall and held by the neck.

The victim, in her late teens, was walking in Queen Anne Road, Maidstone, on Saturday, March 14 when the suspect approached her from behind, started walking beside her and began talking.

She was walking from the direction of King Street shortly after 11pm and managed to push the man off before he ran away.

The above efit has been created by police officers using evidence provided by the victim.

The suspect is described as black and with a foreign accent. He is in his late 20s or early 30s and slim.

He is approximately 5ft 7ins with short black hair, facial stubble and crooked teeth.

At the time he was wearing light blue jeans, one diamond earring and a brown or black leather jacket.

Investigating officer PC Susan Vidgeon said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who we are now very grateful for helping us compile what is a very clear e-fit image.

"We have been making a number of enquiries into this assault since it was reported to us, but are still keen to hear from anyone who may recognise this e-fit image or the description.

"He speaks with a foreign accent and it is possible that his use of English is also limited.

"We are reminding both motorists and residents that this assault occurred in a fairly busy road. You may have heard the victim shouting at the offender to let her go.

"The smallest piece of information can help, so please get in touch if you know anything."
