Police are investigating claims of a sexual assault in Maidstone town centre.
A woman is said to have been attacked in the street at about 5.40am today.
The entrances to the Market Buildings, which links the High Street and Earl Street, were sealed by officers at around 7.30am following the report.
Owners of businesses in the narrow street were unable to get to their shops, including Michael Tobley who runs the Art Lounge cafe.
The cordon was removed at around midday after crime scene photographers took pictures of the street with witnesses reporting they were focusing on the area of the street closest to High Street.
