Police drafted in a helicopter to help search the area around the A249 near Detling after concerns were raised about the driver of an abandoned car.
Emergency services were called at 6.40pm yesterday after reports of a crash.
When they arrived officers found the vehicle had left the road and gone into some nearby trees where it had overturned. The driver had left the scene.
Police carried out a search of the area with the help of a helicopter from Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey. But this was unsuccessful.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said the driver has since in contact and they are speaking to him about the incident.
