Postal strike hits county town
00:00, 31 October 2003
STAFF at a sorting office in Maidstone are on strike tonight after walking out in support of colleagues taking action in part of the London district.
The unofficial strike action began at around 4pm this afternoon when postal workers suddenly swarmed out of the Maidstone Mail Centre.
A statement condemning the walkout as illegal wildcat action is expected from Royal Mail.
