The full line-up for this year's Proms in the Park in Maidstone has been revealed.
Council chiefs said it would require ticket prices to rise further from £7 to £20 for the event to break even, and it was thought the public would not support the show at such prices.
However, house builder Weston Homes stepped in at the end of the year and offered to sponsor the event to the tune of £20,000 each year for the next five years in what council leader Martin Cox described as "a great Christmas present for Maidstone."
Now free to enter once again, full details have emerged about what visitors can expect from this year's show, which takes place between 3pm and 8pm on Saturday, May 25.
From 3pm the Master of Ceremonies, David Zachary will be getting the ball rolling and Invicta Jazz, a 40 strong friendly group of jazz musicians will be kicking off the entertainment at 3.15pm.
Their music is heavily varied, ranging from jazz standards and the big band era of the 20s to modern arrangements.
This is followed by performances by The Hazlitt Theatre Choir at 4.30pm, and the Hazlitt Youth Theatre at 4.45pm.
At 5pm Fred Clark, an exciting acoustic singer and songwriter from Maidstone mixes pop, folk and surfy vibes.
From 5.45pm to 8.15pm Clea & The Dubs take to the stage. Clea Llewelyn is a rootsy soul veteran, a singer, guitarist and writer working on her second album.
At 6.30pm Maidstone Wind Symphony will finish off the day, rousing the audience with favourites such as Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory, for a singalong finale.
Little ones will be entertained throughout the afternoon, with Punch and Judy, face painting, a bubble artist and mix and mingle magic.
An arts and crafts table will also be provided by This Art of Mine for children of all ages to come and have a go at making something summery.
Visitors of all ages are encouraged to bring chairs, picnics and blankets to enjoy the event.
John Foster, head of economic development at Maidstone Borough Council said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to bring this amazing event back for free, thanks to the generous sponsorship from Weston Homes.
“This wonderful event is perfect for the whole family, with beautiful music from local artists as well as lots of fun for the children.
"Don’t forget to bring something to sit on and watch out for weather reports as you will need your rain macs if we get a downpour."
