A householder has his own answer to the rising cost of energy.
Martyn Taylor, of Edmont Place, London Road, Addington, near West Malling, has applied to Tonbridge and Malling council for permission to instal an array of 24 standing solar panels in his rear garden.
The mini-solar farm, covering an area of approximately 11m by 8m, will be positioned at the far end of the long garden, close to the railway track, and will not be seen from the road.
The scheme will require the removal of 24 leylandi trees to make room.
Mr Taylor says the project will also be screened from the view of neighbours by an existing row of mature trees.
The application can be viewed on the Tonbridge and Malling council website here.
