A family have been reunited with their tablet device full of family photos, after it was stolen in Tonbridge.
A 58 year-old man from Beckenham was given a caution for theft after he was seen on CCTV at a car showroom on Saturday, February 15, concealing and then leaving with the tablet, which was owned by a father and his seven-year-old son, who were in the process of returning a courtesy car when the theft occurred.
The tablet had been left unattended momentarily.
Within five hours the suspect had been identified and arrested. The property was returned to its rightful owners.
Acting Detective Insp Kris Eberlein said: “This appears to be a completely opportunist theft, but fortunately we were able to retrieve the stolen property, with help from colleagues in the Metropolitan Police, and return it to its owners.’
