Maidstone East Railway Station closed due to incident

A train station was briefly closed while emergency services dealt with a report of fare dodging.
Maidstone East Railway Station was shut for a short time at around 12.45pm while British Transport police responded
Two people have been arrested.
Officers attended the scene and a 31-year-old woman from Maidstone was arrested on suspicion of using threatening or abusive behaviour. A 45-year-old man, also from Maidstone, was arrested on suspicion of affray.
They remain in police custody as enquiries continue.
The rail operator tweeted to report the closure before announcing it was once again open less than 20 minutes later.
