A rapper has announced he's to go ahead with a tour less than two months after a student was stabbed to death in the aftermath of one of his gigs.

Fighting broke out in Jubilee Square, Maidstone, on August 25 after London musician MoStack performed at the nearby Gallery Nightclub.

South Bank University student Andre Bent was killed in the melee, which remains the subject of a murder investigation.

MoStack, real name Montell Daley, only recently broke a six-week silence on social media by apologising to the victim's family.

However, relatives of Mr Bent, 21, slammed his comments, insisting they did "absolutely nothing for us".

In a tweet to fans today, MoStack announced: "The tour's on and starts at the end of this month. It's gonna a shut down (sic)."

He also asked supporters who else they'd like him to bring out on stage during his string of performances, which kicks off in Glasgow on Monday and ends at the O2 Academy in Brixton on November 11.

A total of 13 people have been arrested in connection with the Maidstone incident, a number of whom are believed to have been members of the rapper's entourage on the night of the gig.

Among these is a 16-year-old from Hornsey, north London, who was arrested and charged by police on September 1 with murder, three counts of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday wearing glasses and dressed in a black suit and black tie.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on November 18. No plea was entered.

Nine others charged with violent disorder from the night of Mr Bent's death were listed to give pleas by video link but did not appear this morning as more time was needed to assess evidence.

The defendants are Yussef Abdi Aweys, Darien Thompson-Cox, Mohamed Gelani, Nathaniel Small, Jerral Johnson, Kaline Riley, Rheo Lawrence, Ryan Lowe and Ali Aziz.
