Bookworms from Maidstone seem to have a taste for scandal and conspiracy.
Authors Jeffrey Archer, Dan Brown and Michael Connelly all feature in the top 10 list of books borrowed from Maidstone libraries between October and December last year.
However it was The Kashmir Shawl, a story of family secrets and forbidden love by Rosie Thomas, that was borrowed more than an other during this period - 80 in total.

That seems to be something of a shock as it does not feature in the county wide top 10, which is dominated by crime mysteries.
Readers in what Kent County Council defines as the Tonbridge district seem to like things with a little more pace.
Never Go Back, the latest instalment in the series of Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child, was the most popular choice - being borrowed 53 times in total.
The figures were released ahead of National Library Day, which runs this Saturday.
To coincide with this Library Treasures, a new app being championed by Kent County Council, will be launched.
Designed for children it allows children to collect virtual coins and play games, but before playing they have borrow, read and review at least one book before being able to get into the game.
KCC Service Development Librarian Vandra Hemmings said: “This new app is the culmination of a year’s partnership work with developers Solus. We are pleased to be the first library service in the country to offer this new playful incentive to encourage young people to read.”
