A RECORD-BREAKING church bellringer has died at the age of 90. Thomas Cullingworth, of Holtye Crescent, Maidstone, was the only person to have rung peals at every "ringable" Kent church and he made a total of 2,335 peals over 65 years.
He was a member of the Kent County Association of Change Ringers for 69 years, becoming a vice-chairman in 1985, and was well-known across the country for his ringing achievements. They include a marathon ring of 12 hours and two minutes in 1986.
