There is an urgent need for more foster parents.
The Fostering Network suggests there are currently 920 children and teenagers in the South East waiting for a foster home.
Most people who take up fostering find the experience totally rewarding.
To find out whether fostering could be for you, there is a recruitment day tomorrow, Tuesday, run by the independent fostering agency Orange Grove.
Andy Purnell, a manager with Orange Grove, said: “People can come along and meet our friendly team, who will be talking about the role of a foster carer and what this rewarding career has to offer.
“We also aim to dispel some of the myths behind being a foster parent. Being a foster parent is different now from how it was 10 years ago. The process is not as difficult as people often think it might be and we support them all of the way.”
Visit between 10am and 6pm at Ditton Community Centre in Kiln Barn Road, Ditton, ME20 6AH.
All welcome, with no obligation.
