Police shut a road after a crash involving a motorcyclist and car.

Westree Road in Maidstone was closed for hours after the collision at around 6.50pm last night.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to the scene after the crash at the junction with Tonbridge Road.

A police spokesman explained:"Officers attended the scene where paramedics treated the motorcyclist for a leg injury.

"He was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention."
