Farleigh Lane, Maidstone closed for water main repairs at junction with Glebe Lane

A water main has burst along a main road.
Motorists will not be able to travel through Farleigh Lane in Maidstone while emergency repairs are carried out.
The long stretch of road has been shut in the middle, at the junction with Glebe Lane.
Drivers can only access the street to this point via Farleigh Bridge, or Tonbridge Road.
Works are being carried out by South East Water and will be in place until tomorrow (August 15).
Regional network manager for the utility company, Andy Beston, said: "We are sorry to our customers impacted by a closed road in Farleigh Lane, Maidstone.
“The road has been closed in order to complete a repair on a burst water main.
“For the safety of the public and our team carrying out the repair, we have obtained a permit to close the road until Thursday 15th August 2024.
“We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding whilst we complete the work."
