As part of the latest Covid-19 safety measures, traffic restrictions have been introduced in parts of Maidstone town centre.

Temporary road closures are now in place along with new gates on Earl Street and Gabriel's Hill to help control traffic at peak times.

The changes come as lockdown restrictions are eased and more people return to non-essential shops which have been allowed to open since Monday.

Similar steps will be taken in Sheerness, Sittingbourne and Faversham from next week when traffic will be banned near the high street.
