An application to build a Sainsbury’s Local and homes on Loose Road has been resubmitted.

Maidstone Borough Council’s planning committee rejected a proposal to build the store and nine residences on the site of the former ambulance station on Thursday, June 27, but a fresh application has appeared on the council’s weekly planning list.

If permission is granted, a 456 square metre convenience store will be built, alongside eight new homes.

The applicant, Oliver James Homes, is also challenging the committee’s unanimous rejection of the its initial application, despite it being recommended for approval by officers.
