Maidstone: Police arrest second person after assault on Loose Road

Officers investigating an assault which left an 18-year-old boy with a fractured eye socket have arrested a second person.

The incident happened in Loose Road, Maidstone, on Tuesday, August 29.

The victim had been walking along the main road with friends when he was shouted at by the occupants of a Ford Fiesta as it drove past.

The car was seen to pull into Parkway. As the victim and his friends approached Heather Drive, it's reported the group from the car, described as five men and a woman, ran down the road and assaulted the victim.

He was kicked and punched as he lay on the floor, and required hospital treatment as a result.

Officers arrested a teenage girl from Maidstone on Thursday, on suspicion of theft and assault.

She was later bailed to return to the police station on Thursday, September 28, pending further investigation.

Officers have today made a second arrest, of an 18-year-old man of no fixed address. He remains in police custody.
