The first case identified in the school was announced just yesterday when a pupil from the Year 7 bubble tested positive.

Both years groups have been sent home until Sunday, November 22.

The Future School Trust, which runs the academy in Hubbard's Lane said: "FST can confirm that Cornwallis Academy has been advised by Public Health England that there has been another confirmed case of Covid-19, this time within the Year 11 bubble.

"As per advice from Public Health England, we have notified all staff, students and their parents.

"As part of Test and Trace all students in Year 11 have been instructed to self-isolate until Sunday, November 22 as a precautionary measure; some staff within this bubble have also been requested to self-isolate."
