A second man who died in a motorway crash has been named locally as David Boaler.
Mr Boaler was travelling in a van with Reece Watson and another man on Thursday when it collided with a lorry on the M26, near Wrotham, on Thursday.
He and Mr Watson, both from Maidstone, died at the scene and the third man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
A fundraising page has now been set up to pay for a memorial and the veterinary care of Mr Boaler's dog, with any spare funds going to a dog charity. The money will be given to Mr Boaler's family to dispense with.
Paying tribute to his friend, Mr Morton said: "Anyone that knew Dave knew what a kind and caring person he was, someone that always went out his way to help others.
"He would do anything for his friends and was always there if you needed him.
"He always had a smile on his face and if there was ever a bad situation he would do what he could to turn it into a good one."
So far, more than £900 has been raised.
Mr Boaler, 44, studied advanced paint technology at the East Midlands Training and Education Centre, according to his Facebook profile.
He worked as a spray technician for a Derby firm and also as a fitter at Bombardier Transportation Derby.
He had also worked as an environmental enforcement officer at Kingdom Services Group.
He had also been employed by Rolls-Royce.
Mr Watson, a former Swadelands School pupil has been named locally as the other man who died in the crash.
Family and friends have paid tribute to the football coach, who was in his twenties, and is described as a kind and funny young man.
A fundraising page has also been set up for Mr Watson's family.
