Serious accident closes M20 coast-bound between junction 2 for Wrotham and 4 for Leybourne

A man in his 30s has died following a crash involving one car on the M20 today.
The accident happened shortly before 11.30am on the coast-bound stretch between junction 2 for Wrotham and 4 for Leybourne.
The black Jaguar X-Type hit a nearside crash barrier and the driver, who was 32 and from Plumstead, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The accident closed M20 coast-bound between junction 2 for Wrotham and 4 for Leybourne for close to six hours but all lanes reopened at around 5pm.
The M26 coast-bound was also closed but has reopened.
The fire and ambulance services attended and the air ambulance was also called but it was sent back mid-flight.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 11.27am to reports of a serious collision on the coast-bound carriageway of the M20 near to the M26.
"Traffic is advised to avoid the area if possible due to potential delays."
