10:00, 20 July 2015
Police officers have come to the rescue of a number of sheep spotted on the loose in Maidstone this morning.
Kent Police began receiving calls about an escaped animal on Tonbridge Road, near Teston, just before 5.30am.
An officer was dispatched and returned the woolly wanderer to a near-by field.
However, just before 7am, further calls were received about two more sheep on the loose in the same stretch of road.
Officers attended again, returned them to the field and fixed a broken part of the boundary fence, which the animals are believed to have been escaping through.
