Fremlin Walk in Maidstone town centre launches free mini golf for summer
17:28, 18 August 2024
An outdoor shopping centre has launched free mini golf.
A nine-hole course has been set up outside the former House of Fraser in Fremlin Walk, Maidstone.
Games can be played between 10am and 4pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout August.
No booking is required.
On a post on social media, the shopping centre said: “Just head down during event hours, and you’re all set to tee off.
“Grab your friends, family, or even your workmates for a round (or two) of mini golf fun!”
The quirky initiative follows the recent news of the shopping centre being put on the market for £25million.
Fremlin Walk first opened in March 2005 and hosts some of the town’s biggest shops – including H&M, Pandora and Boots.
But in the past several years, there have been a series of store closures.
In 2020, Topshop left after going into administration, as did home and lifestyle retailer, Laura Ashley.
In December last year, Zara unexpectedly shut.
But in more promising news, the shopping complex is set for the arrival of new brands such as Frasers, Flannels and Sports Direct.
