The live music scene may have been left battered by Covid-19 - but music-lovers will be partying in the park this weekend.

A three-day music festival with a difference is being held in Maidstone's Mote Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Coronavirus measures mean the entire affair will take place from a distance, with groups in the audience kept to separate 'pods' to minimise the potential spread of the virus.

Friday will see Rock the Mote presents Summertime Live, featuring some of the country’s best tribute acts covering artists including Oasis, Paul Weller, Duran Duran and Go West.

The next day there will be a treat for dance fans as the Revival presents Ibiza Symphonic, featuring a live orchestra and headliner Judge Jules streaming live.

It all wraps up on Sunday with The Social Distancing DJ sets headlined by Nic Fanciulli.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for groups to enter the event as a party on foot.

Each group will then be allocated a 'pod' which is numbered, fenced off and socially distanced from others festival-goers. Be be assures, there will still be plenty of room to dance the night away.

An event spokesman said: "Each pod will be have a one-metre distance from the next, which allows customers that wish to arrive with friends and other members of the family to meet up, socialise and spend time together in a safe place, whilst maintaining social distancing from others."

The festival has achieved ‘Good to Go’ accreditation, indicating it follows Government and industry Covid-19 guidelines to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Random temperature checks will be carried out upon entry into the event.

Anyone found with symptoms will be refused entry into the event along with the party they arrived with, and will be advised to self-isolate for 14 days.
