A 30mph speed limit zone has been extended on a stretch of village road.
Kent County Council has made an order under traffic regulations to drop the limit on a section of Headcorn Road in Lenham from the national speed limit of 60mph to 30.
The authority says the change is being made to help increase safety on the route into the village just south of the railway line and station.
It puts an additional 126 metres of carriageway within the 30mph limit, where previously the national speed limit began just south of Headcorn Road's junction with Station Approach.
The change came in to force on April 9.
