Children as young as three pulled on their sports gear to get active for Sport Relief on Friday.

Ahead of this weekend's activities, primary school pupils, and tots even younger, dressed up and got down to some serious fitness for the charity push.

At Leybourne pre school, there was no napping for the 32 three and four-year-olds as they took part in aerobics, gymnastics, car racing and an egg and spoon race during the day.

The pre school, which meets in Leybourne village hall, staged the events throughout the day, and raised around £80 through the week making cakes and selling them to parents and families.

At St John’s primary in Provender Way, Grove Green in Maidstone, classes were sponsored to run the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on the school field. There had also been a cake and fruit sale the day before.

At Kings Hill school in Crispin Way the whole school of more than 440 pupils and staff all skipped their way to helping the charity push by skipping for a minute, and also raising money for the British Heart Foundation too.
