Andre Bent, the student murdered in Maidstone, died never knowing he was to become a father
His girlfriend Maria was pregnant and was planning to break the news to him on the morning he died, it has emerged.
Today, teenager Vasilios Ofogeli was found guilty of the 21-year-old's murder at Maidstone Crown Court and is due to be sentenced.
Andre's uncle Stephen McIntosh said after the court case: "He went with his friends to celebrate a simple birthday and just never came home."
He said Andre, who had his bags packed to start university, was due to see his girlfriend - who was going to tell him she was pregnant.
The child, a girl, is due in April.
Mr McIntosh said: "She was pregnant and he never knew. Maria was going to break the news on the morning he died."
Andre was stabbed when a row broke out near the Gallery Nightclub in Bank Street on August 25.
Police were called at around 3am to reports of a disturbance near the High Street.
The student at London South Bank University had been in the nightclub to see rapper MoStack in concert before 17-year-old Ofogeli stabbed him in a brawl outside.
Family and friends of Andre posted emotional tributes to him in the town after he died.
Ofogeli also knifed Joshua Robinson, Patrick Conceicao, and Lucas Baker, creating mayhem on the streets of the town and as well as being convicted of murder, he was found guilty of two attempted murders and wounding with intent.
Two others, Ryan Lowe-White and Ali Aziz were cleared of wounding with intent and will be sentenced with Ofogeli in April after they had earlier admitted a charge of violent disorder.
Others who took part in the frightening incident outside the Gallery Nightclub in Bank Street, will also be sentenced after they pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
They are: Nathaniel Small, 22, Mohamed Gelani, 24, Darien Thompson, 21, Yusuf Aweys, 20, Jerral Johnson, 26, Kaline Riley, 23 and Rheo Lawrence, 29.
