A town centre's only super club came under fire from fans after it announced the sacking of a well-known club promoter on Facebook.
Luke Gibb claims he was left stranded in Maidstone when he was forced to retrieve his items from a company car and had to be picked up by a friend after he was relieved of his position, as head promoter at Gallery.
In a statement on Facebook within an hour of the sacking, last Thursday, the Bank Street venue told its 20,000 followers: “It is with great regret today we have had to dismiss our head promoter Mr Luke Gibb (aka ‘Gibbo’) for gross misconduct.
“We wish to reassure all customers and fans of Gallery that this will have no impact on the future of the club and that all announced events and bookings are not at risk.”
The post was later removed following an angry backlash from clubbers. Mr Gibb insists he has no idea what the allegations of gross misconduct are.
Gallery said they did not receive any formal written grievance from Mr Gibb and that they were unable to make any further comment regarding his dismissal.
