Gifts and accessories store Merchant Chandler has shut up shop in Maidstone.

The business was on the ground floor of the Royal Star Arcade in the High Street.

Sale signs are still up at its windows, but no message had been posted to tell shoppers of the surprise closure.

No-one from the arcade was available for comment.

Bridal shop, Christina K, has also recently moved out of the arcade and across the road to the High Street, while the Grinning Demon comic shop, which is currently opposite on the High Street, is moving in to the unit vacated by clothes shop Resouled.
