Man arrested after ‘gun’ fired at police car in Knightrider Street, Maidstone

A suspect has been arrested following reports an air weapon was deliberately fired at a police car.
A man was seen brandishing an object resembling a handgun in Knightrider Street, Maidstone on Tuesday morning (September 24).
Officers attended shortly after 7am but when the first patrol arrived, they were reportedly shot at while in the police vehicle.
Alexander Sangster was arrested at the scene. An air weapon was seized nearby.
The 41-year-old, of no fixed address, was later charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
He is bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on October 10.
