More than 84 bags of cocaine have been seized after reports of drug dealing in an underpass.
Two men were arrested and a haul of drugs including 84 bags of cocaine, 29 bags of cannabis, a quantity of cash, and two mobile phones were found after drug deals were allegedly seen taking place in a passageway near Medway Street, Maidstone.
On 11 June and June 19 a man was said to have been seen dealing drugs to a local known user in the underpass.
Less than a week later, officers saw a suspect matching the description of the man near Pudding Lane and arrested him on suspicion of drug-related offences.
Subsequent searches led to the arrest of a second man and the seizure of the drugs haul.
Elton Selimaj and Erald Koxha, both 25, of Pudding Lane, have since been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, and possession of criminal property.
Both men pleaded guilty to the charges relating to possession at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court yesterday (June 26).
They have been remanded in custody, pending a further hearing at the same court on July 22.
