Teenage girl injured in hit and run incident in Sutton Road, Maidstone

A teenage girl was taken to hospital after a road accident last night where the driver failed to stop.
The incident happened at 8pm when the girl was in collision with a vehicle while she was walking in Sutton Road, Maidstone, close to the junction with Willington Street.
Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene and she was taken to hospital, though her injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road was temporarily closed and reopened at around 11pm.
Police inquiries into the driver of the vehicle involved, which failed to stop after the collision, are ongoing.
