Teenager impaled on branch of tree

A TEENAGER is recovering after falling and spearing his head on a 2ft-long branch in woods near Maidstone.
The boy was running through the woods off Gravelly Bottom Road, Kingswood, when he tripped and impaled himself on the branch.
Firefighters cut through the two-inch diameter branch before the boy was taken to Maidstone Hospital by ambulance with part of the stick still embedded in his forehead.
Although he remained conscious throughout, paramedics did not remove the branch as a precaution. It eventually fell out of its own accord as the boy waited for treatment in hospital.
