Maidstone teens arrested after 50-year-old man robbed and assaulted in Brenchley Gardens

Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was robbed and assaulted by a gang of four.

The victim, in his 50s, was walking through Brenchley Gardens in Maidstone at around 5pm on Monday when it was alleged that four young men attacked him and stole cash from his wallet.

Following inquiries and looking at CCTV footage, officers arrested two 19-year-old men the next day.

They were bailed to return to the police station following further investigation on October 31.

The park next to Maidstone East railway station has had a lot of criminal activity in recent years with calls for the green space to be blanketed with CCTV or to even shut at night.
