Thief punches woman in the face in Maidstone

A woman who was punched in the face during a violent robbery has escaped without serious injury.
The victim was targeted while walking on a footpath from County Hall to Lower Boxley Road at around 11.50pm on Sunday.
A man described as mixed race walked up to the victim and struck in the face before stealing her handbag.
In the moments leading up to the incident the victim had walked down Pudding Lane and then Week Street.
Police are now appealing for the public's help in tracking down the thief.
He is described as around 5ft 6ins tall, with black hair and a short beard, wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
