A faulty toaster is thought to be the cause of a kitchen fire.

Fire crews were called to Milstead Close, Maidstone, just before 1.45pm today.

They extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet, and used a fan to clear smoke from the property.

There were no reported injuries, and crews left the scene after around 20 minutes.
