00:00, 05 September 2003
A CITROEN AX car left the road and crashed into undergrowth while travelling along the B2169 Bayham Road between Tunbridge Wells and Lamberhurst last night.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 10pm after a passenger was trapped in the vehicle with suspected back injuries.
Hydraulic cutting gear was used to remove the car roof and the casualty was then lifted clear on a spinal long board before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
Two men were in the car at the time of the crash. The driver was able to get out unaided.
