Railway trespasser at Charing disrupts Southeastern train services from London Victoria to Ashford International via Maidstone East

A trespasser on a railway line caused disruption to trains this evening.
All lines were blocked while response staff apprehended the person on the tracks in the Charing area between Ashford and Maidstone .
As a result of the unauthorised incursion, trains running between Ashford International and Otford via Maidstone East were disrupted.
A Southeastern spokesman said: "A trespass incident between Otford and Ashford International has resulted in all lines being blocked. As a result of this, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
"We have had reports of a trespasser on the line in the Charing area. Response staff are en route but trains that would normally run via Maidstone East are being disrupted."
The trespasser was found and taken into police custody. Trains were running freely a short while later after power to the tracks was restored.
Passengers may be entitled to compensation if they experienced a delay as a result of the trespass incident.
British Transport Police has been approached for comment.
