A fire has broken out in Penenden Heath tonight.
It is believed the blaze started in a garage bordering two properties, with flames reaching upstairs windows.
The incident happened around 5.30pm on Tuesday evening near homes opposite the parade of shops in Sandling Lane.
Driver Jo Pearce, who was on her way home, said: "I saw it about 5.45pm. I was coming from the Chiltern Hundreds direction and you could already see the glow of a large fire.
"As I got to the mini roundabout you could see the blaze licking the edge of the road but cars were still able to get by.
"It had spread to bushes and it looked like it was at the front of two houses.
A police car and 12 firefighters were sent to the scene and Kent Highways was warning drivers to approach the area with caution.
