A 55-year-old man killed in Maidstone has been named as Jason Orwin, as another man appears in court accused of his murder.
Mr Orwin sustained fatal injuries after an incident in Bower Place on Friday evening.
Today Lance Colston, 36, charged with murder and actual bodily harm, appeared via video link at Medway Magistrates' Court.
He spoke only to confirm his name and address as Tonbridge Road, Maidstone.
The Crown Prosecution Service also granted authority for Mr Colston to be charged with actual bodily harm following a report a second man was injured during the same incident.
Officers were called to reports of an assault just after 6.30pm and went to the scene alongside paramedics and the air ambulance.
Mr Orwin was airlifted to a London hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The second man, in his 30s, was also assaulted and was treated for his injuries at Bower Place.
Colston will appear again on Wednesday at Maidstone Crown Court.
A second man charged with actual bodily harm also appeared in the same court via video link.
Oliver Watts 33, of Tonbridge Road, Maidstone was remanded in custody due to breaching a previous licence he was on.
He will appear on the same date as Colston.
