One unsuspecting pigeon became trapped in a town centre supermarket this afternoon.

The startled bird which had become trapped in a window display at Morrisons in Maidstone appeared to be trying to get hold of a bag for life.

It would appear even the animal kingdom is in a flap about the new 5p bag charges.

But one Good Samaritan came to the rescue, managing to catch the creature and safely escort it out of the Week Street store.
